Etang de Villiane is a mature stunning 6 acre stream-fed lake which dates back to Napoleonic times. Our lake is set in 37 acres of beautiful French countryside.
The lake is partially surrounded by mature willow and oak trees, these provide both shelter and access to the spectacular views over the countryside a breathtaking experience in itself.
The lake is Managed by experienced and enthusiastic carp angler, Stuart Eccleston who is always available to offer tips and guidance, Etang de Villaine provides a tranquil spot in which to relax, admire the wildlife and catch some very impressive carp. The stocking levels have been sensibly set at 3 tonnes of carp, ranging from upper doubles right up to sixty pounds. This will give an average of half a tonne of carp per acre of water. Stuart restricts the number of anglers to just six giving each angler 1 acre of lake to fish.
The lake varies in depth and ranges from 12 foot to 5 foot, each swim has subtle underwater features which keeps anglers thinking and provides extra interest. The lake features bars, drop-offs and a number of holes, this gives the more experienced angler a little extra challenge whilst in pursuite of that special personal best Carp or Catfish.
